7097 - "I volunteered walking dogs at our county shelter. Nate was brought in with a female pittie. Their owner was distraught. She had these two since they were puppies but was moving and could not take them. Nate was 8 years old.
The female was adopted within one week! But Nate, weeks went by, then months. I told Nate every week, 'you are gonna get adopted this week.' He was getting depressed, not eating, and becoming reactive. So I talked to hubby. We had three seniors at home, but Daisy, our boxer mix, was still playful and I thought Nate would be a perfect companion for her.
It’s been over a year since Nate came home. He’s perfect in every way. He is sweet with all our dogs, plays well with Daisy and sleeps at the head of our bed right between my husband and me every night. 😊 The first time we took him out in the pasture, he was so happy- and we learned he loves to fetch. It's like he has always been here. My only regret is we didn’t get him sooner.
People missed out by not adopting this senior pittie but we hit the jackpot! -Kathy" ❤️ #seniordog #lovestory #adopted #familydog #happilyeverafter #adoptdontshop
