234 - POTTY TRAINING
Okay mums & dads, let's have a serious conversation about poo and wee. 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
Amalia is 2 this week, so now it's time to start thinking about potty training. I've been through it three times and every experience has been different. I'm laughing because twice this week I've received message from my brother about his 2 year old wiping her poo on furniture and @fatimamac shared her story of her daughter wiping poo in her hair, which makes me think October isn't the month for me to start toilet training Mali. I'm commonly asked: at what age should I start potty training my child? Every child is different. Some grasp the concept younger than others while some need a little more time. I would say that if you are trying to potty train, prepare to stay at home for a solid week. In the beginning take your child to the toilet every 30 mins so he or she can slowly acquaint themselves with their new best friend. Most of the time it's a miss. They get off the toilet and then they do their business, but that's ok. It takes time. I remember trying to potty train Janah at 2.5, which I think is a good age to start. I found her in my walk-in wardrobe where she had urinated. Alisar was much younger when I potty trained her but once she turned two she decided she didn't want to use the potty and demanded a nappy. I would find puddles in the apartment where she left her mark. I had to start all over again. We've all got some hilarious or horror stories. I'd love a good laugh.
